Sorta, but not exactly.

I keep coming across these "quotes" I think people just made up and stuck a famous guy's name on them... or... they weren't as great as I thought they were....

7am

Raining cats and dogs still. I was just awakened from a dead sleep by an armageddon-like thunderstorm that might've been an earthquake and thunderstorm combo or North Korea just missing and the radiation is only now arriving and the tornado passed without decanting me from my hovel, but my ears are ringing so loudly I can't tell for sure if that is a thousand fighter jets off at sea or the sea rising up over the headlands... no... wait... was that a semi?

8:30am

That roaring that would not go away was just the sound of the force of the rain... like standing by Niagara Falls. I had to run around and bang my ears and chug coffee and almost get all the way out into it to determine for real that that noise like thunder that just wouldn't ebb away was really the roar of the water hitting everything.

It's lightened up quite a bit just now... and it's for sure that was what was doing it. It was SO intense and the fiends are aiming their circuit frier beams on me so hard that I couldn't tell for sure WTF was WTF there for a while.

I just know that at a few minutes after seven this morning loud booming and crackling and fizzing noises were vibrating my house and my body. Like forever that I can remember the startle that people usually turn into fear, even from a dead sleep, was the most like what you would call exasperation and my first response to it was to turn over and resume sleeping.

But then I realized I needed to pee....

So. I'm up. There's somehow miraculously still power and it stayed on clear through the horrifically upsetting wind storm last night and the almost constant downpour for the last fifteen or so hours... heck... I'm almost ready to declare that Oregon does a much better job than California... but... why don't I feel secure about this?

Oh, maybe because that little lull is ending and the rain's coming down hard again.

9:15am

Man, I'm looking at all the weather sites and they are miles off the actual again. Wunderground is ridiculous for precipitation amounts. Sheesh. STUPIDLY off. They don't even give us an inch precipitation and it makes me certain they don't have any actual measuring anywhere near here. There's been an inch in the last fifteen minutes. There's been feet over the last day. And, yes, a lot of it was going sideways and not easy to catch in a tube perpendicular to the ground, but, still... I wonder if it wouldn't be nicer to just state they don't know instead of post that twaddle.

always and any time....
