Since I posted this, the story has been shown to be a hoax, but the information on what to do when faced with a mountain lion is correct, and I'd still go for the neck break if one pounced on me.

...

It's a sad story, but the information is very important to anyone who encounters a mountain lion. I, of course, coo "ooo, priddy kiddy" at them, but, bank on it, if they show even a sign of the thought of aggression, which they do not 99.99% of the time, I will be hollering and waving my arms and acting like an angry predator around them... and... if that does not work, I'll do like this guy did... or die a good death trying.

Still, I don't imagine that will ever happen to me. Animals, wild or tame or somewhere in between, get me... except, of course, barn swallows, who don't get anything but mud affixed to appealing nesting sites. It's people who seem to have difficulty on that score.

always and any time....
