You know about "controlled burns", I'm sure. The feds decided to make them much bigger is all. You might argue that controlled burns are set on purpose, but I think so are these big ones. Even if no one actually lit the match, and I'm not sure no one did, they're still as purposeful. Every single time. Fires that can be put out reasonably quickly with enough equipment and men are NOT put out. Perimeters are marked out instead, and when/if the conflagration breaches it, they just move the perimeter until the weather turns and puts it out. If I hear one more moron making some handwringing statement about brave firefighters and deploring the loss of life from these dog and pony shows I'm going screaming naked off a cliff.
