I would have put it differently. I would have said those dancing on Fidel's grave should be required to try living on a tiny island with a handful of fabulously wealthy oligarchs who don't give a fuck how hungry you are or if you have a home or can even sign your name, and who simply kill you if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and let the feral dogs take care of your funeral.

And I know this is precisely right, precisely how I would feel about it. I have read many accounts of life in Cuba by visitors and residents over the course of my life, and without exception they were way more positive than negative all the way up to outright glowing reviews. Doesn't seem to matter how many people with actual experience take the trouble to get us the facts, though. The mindfucking machine sucks the sentience even from people who never get near that malign contraption. They soak it in from the people who do.
