Calling it an atmospheric river is all well and good, but the trees have been eatin' it in certain spots. Avenue of the Giants. Richardson Grove. The drive-thru tree. And a house was crumpled down in Fortuna.
This "river" is different from the rains in October in that it is not in such long steady downpouring. It's all over the map. Pelting down so hard betimes you think it will pierce your roof. Blowing so hard betimes you you think something's sure to fall over. I was awakened this morning by such a raucous din of drops mixed with hail I thought maybe I could build a fire with the bits of my house collected up to signal rescue helicopters.
Just being a drama queen.
