Sevenish... some hours later... the wind has calmed considerably over the past half hour. Not gone. Still blowing. But less obnoxious and agitating. If it stays down, the infrastructure here might keep it together. There has not been that much rain with it yet. Just a big old hairy melee out there, punching in every direction.
Maybe we'll get away with it merely making me miserable.

With more than 89 percent of polling stations reporting early morning Monday, ruling party candidate Lenin Moreno had slightly over 39 percent of the votes, compared to 28 percent for former banker Guillermo Lasso, the closest contender among seven opposition candidates.
