Just in case you were wondering, it is raining so hard today that I am now officially unafraid of the Chetco Bar Fire reviving itself to burn me down. I mean, maybe there are roots burning and turning into those coals that restart fires years later, but I don't even think my hovel will remain habitable that long.
Anyway, it's very wet rain. No kidding kind of rain. And I can hear the surf roaring.

Oh, and I used the old infallible hairspray method to kill a fly today. That's another way I know the rainy season is here. Whenever it gets real, rain-wise, a fly or two will come up seemingly out of my plumbing to great the day and piss me off. Today's fly decided it was most convenient to crawl around on my monitor. So.
Knowing the drill, I simply picked up my tiny little spritzer of hairspray for when my bangs get too long and blasted him with it. Yes, yes, that means I blasted my monitor with him, but, fuck it.
It immediately incapacitates them and you put them out of their misery immediately and then just clean the hairspray off the monitor. It beats them tracking their filth all over everything in your house and trying to fly up your nostril or crawl into one of your ears.
Yes, yes, I'm not a critter killer — in general — don't do it for drill. Only flies outside. Human inside. Spiders likewise. Pestilence and vermin have the whole rest of the world, and for fucksure they'd nail my ass if I went and made myself at home in their spaces.
