If the forecast is right, it will almost certainly put out the Camp Fire, at least knock it down to a pathetic creeper that firefighters could stomp out with their boots. The problem, of course, will be how willing to soak up moisture the ground is. I think it should mostly be willing to drink up the first inch or so before stuff might start sliding down into the streams.

I mean, forest floors are supposed to be fairly thick with nice, absorbent decaying matter that acts to fertilize the trees and helps keep the soil on the slopes instead of sliding down them, but these years of drought and the red flag weather sucking the already not much moisture out of the ground and then the fire? Oof.

This could get ugly for the ghost of Paradise, like they need ANY more misery ever again, but the one solidly good part about it is that it's going to knock down all those toxins such a huge swath of the state has been breathing for more than a week.
