I am struggling through this as continuing education... my imperative to know about the zeitgeist well enough to use its lingo... and my stolid desire to keep my doctoral degrees in Out There current enough.
Basically, I think, this kid is just now discovering the mechanism by which capitalism has its way with our brains. Never pretty and gobsmacks young people... and this little old lady.
As an aside, I guess this is as good a place as any to mention that young men are heavily to the gossipy backbiting sort when given anything into which to sink their teeth.
And we have the return of the influence of the dread Jan Irvin, again, the moron who cannot be convinced he's so the opposite of intellectually gifted and his deathless self-assessment STILL exerts influence over the easily impressionable young male gossips.
We need to hope some of these can be converted into men. You know, husbands, fathers, competent protectors of the home front. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like that they are looking outside the box, but getting them through the maze of charlatans to the kind of head space needed to drag humanity forward needs to sprout from it.
