it's alive — it's spring

Jim's brand new and expensive router blew up in a power surge slash outage right before I got to their house, so we all had to act like pre-internet adults... actually even pre-tv adults, thank you... and drink and laugh and scratch and argue and read things and get our sleep, all that stuff.

Driving amid the holiday weekend pinheads was not too awful. Only cursed at a few and not even in a raised voice. And, of course, I remembered to pay attention to the GORGEOUS springtime out there. The redwoods are a vast choir of joy from all the rain.

My crumbling hovel is still standing and still marginally functional... and not too damp... considering. My poor neighbor made the grievous mistake of welcoming me home and helping me unpack my car. I was telling her about my ludicrous pre-trip fall and the gorgeous bruises therefrom when she — empath that she is — tripped over my doorstop and landed on her knees. So we're both hobbling now.

Maybe I'll bring her some roses from my "garden" tomorrow....

pipe up any time....
