Humans fall too easily into mental conditioning, and, yes, school is one of the major perpetrators, but that doesn't mean you don't educate yourself so you don't fall for this stuff. You watch the grifters in the movies proclaiming there's a sucker born every minute and you just automatically think that these sleazy fucks are best avoided, except you fail to realize there are seriously sleazy fucks in very high places, and they don't care about you any more than they care about a housefly. If you happen to fly into their house, they'll treat you just like one too.
