This was the last sticking point on the Senate floor when they were producing the CARES Act. Believe it or not, the Republicans warned about this and the Democrats told them they were full of shit. The temporarily enhanced unemployment benefits are at cross purposes with the SBA loans that turn into grants if you use them to keep employees on payroll. It's as though Democrats are determined to kill small businesses.

On a related note, and I know I sound daft to keep brining it up, but I think Trump has found the missing trillions, NOT that we are borrowing against our future to accomplish all this. I think the execrable pigs who at Blackstone, mostly private owners of the fed, are morphing into our national hedge fund managers, so to speak, and Treasury will once again, I hope permanently this time, be in charge of our money.
They're just not going to be up front about it until long after our new normal pretty much obviates having to be up front about it. I could be daft, of course, and I don't care enough to force my neurons down the synapses needed to research it further. I don't mind being daft in your eyes.
