CALL ME OLD FASHIONED, but I cannot get past the lexical dissonance of using the word "pedophile" for wanting sexual relations with persons over the age of 12. I can hang with "illegal" or "pervy" or "criminally inappropriate", but pedo was always reserved for prepubescent people. As in pediatricians would only take patients under the age of 12, booted one off their rosters as quickly after one's twelfth birthday as doable short of emergency. After that age, one is NOT a biological child anymore.
It's not pederasty anymore. It's flat out criminal, but do we never consider that our kids are SO irresponsible and childish for SO long BECAUSE we're keeping them that way, treating them that way, nowadays, until they're 35?
