Agent BB2 sent me enough links to both sides of this mess to keep me busy for a month, and so far I know it really is not as cut and dry for the Lakota as it seems on its face to my heavily biased perspective. I mean, immediately I find this really is NOT, technically, a breach of the Fort Laramie Treaty... though there is an argument for declaring it one, except for already a bunch of pipelines going under that lake.
It's shitty, but not as shitty as I automatically assumed... and, still, maybe, the president's way of making it easier for the companies and more expensive and harder for them to pollute will end up mooting the whole debacle.
I guess I'll be better able to assess after I'm done swimming in BB2's fabulous ocean of linkitude.
