Not aware that Kevin Rudd was on the plane home with him, or that they would be landing at an Air Force Base instead of the civilian airport in Canberra, I was afraid the fiends would blow his jet out of the sky, or at least mow him down on the tarmac.
I think Australia was as frightened for him as we were, else those two precautions probably would not have been in place. It was hard to see him so bloated his suit was obviously barely able to stay on him. Did they force the jab on him? Diabetes? Just total shit food?
Just hurts to see him looking so unwell....
Anyway, I was glued to the live blogging, and video, and flight tracker, and the goddam legacy media coverage of his homecoming. ALL of it. All the prudent framing of the story, not an impolitic utterance from anyone — which made my skin crawl — all the repetition, every dragged out moment of the entire thing.
Just, everyone, leave him the fuck alone now so he can get medical help, some exercise, some peace and beauty, play with his little boys, just generally clear his head so he can see who he even is now, okay?

Defense attorney Barry Pollack argued that Assange suffered 14 years of “restrictions on his liberty,” which he said includes his time spent at Belmarsh Prison in Britain and the roughly seven years he spent holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
“The government does not consider any time before he was in Belmarsh as part of his sentence,” U.S. attorney Matthew McKenzie responded.
“No further incarceration is warranted,” Pollack said.

Okay. I can't settle down. This means he's in the air right now, bound for the Marianas to appear in USDC Northern Marianas District, from whence he will be released on time served and free to go with his wife and children... to, everyone assumes, Australia.
If I'm his wife, I'm taking calls from billionaires wishing to insure he is 1000% safe forever, having him and all our luggage swept for homing devices, and whisked by an elaborate system of sail boats and private jets to some forever undisclosed compound with plenty of first class medical professionals and hot and cold running deaf-mute illiterate servants.

I think we will be hearing one day soon that he's on a plane to one of two countries whose names begin with A... depending on what world we do ultimately live in. I can't believe our DoJ would think that point will be lost on the court in Britain, and so maybe we're looking at the plea deal. Maybe they're letting him go home without looking like they softened on the matter, or maybe they're psychopaths with no thought left for human dignity whatsoever.
