And I know it sounds ludicrous, but it just struck me that this might be the only, or the last, chance either of them has for real love. I do sometimes get glimpses of humanity from the rich and famous... because I spent so much time with them when I was a young thang, because they were all around me for so many decades.
I know how that shit crushes the heart and soul, how you get to feeling you are literally going to die from lack of the real, the truth, the kernel of life on earth.
