i think it snowed last night

It's freezing out there, but dripping now that the sun's up. I think it snowed, though, because the rain stopped pounding in the middle of the night, when it was due to keep raining through until this afternoon, and it's no kidding COLD.

It's bad enough in here, but much colder out there. Since, by some miracle, the power did not go out last night, my activities warm things up in here a bit. Decrepit as I may be, I guess, my body temperature is still cooking right along.

I made myself a pot of chili beans and shredded chicken for Christmas. Warm and hearty and easy.

But I better put it on the stove while the stove is still working because the freakin' power is iffy as heck. Maybe I should look to see what's happening to Oregon in all this weather because our power here comes over the Coast Range along the highway from Grant's Pass. I think that's why I've been plagued by power outages for the last few days.

Both Washington and Oregon have been NUKED by rainstorms for the past couple weeks. So even when it's not quite so awful here, we're still getting the disaster power outages.

pipe up any time....
