dawn day good

I couldn't hold on. I was trying to stay awake until eight or so, so I could get up in the bonafide morning, try to get my life done. I only made it till about five before I gave up the dream and switched on a podcast at a mumble to help blot out the disparate neighborhood noises whilst I fell asleep.

I needn't have bothered because I fell out almost directly upon hitting the bed. As usual, emails immediately started ringing in and that's the last thing I remembered until a robocall tried to stir me. Then, must've been a break in the podcast, I started hearing this voice singing an old song. I kept swimming up in the phrasing of the punchline and, well, I don't think a thing about this kid except he NAILS that part of this song.

No. Really. It took me a while to track this down, but the way he sings that part kept sending me slicing time like shooting stars do space.

It isn't a new dawn. It isn't a new day. We are not feeling good.

But it's nice to remember it's possible.
