I don't like the moral outrage bit—not because it isn't morally outrageous—but because it makes it harder on the victims... tends to keep them victims. I think we need to do a better job in dealing with the felons, and with our duty to quickly devictimize their prey. What is the value of belaboring the awfultude of this? Adults find out about this and make it stop. Period. It makes absolutely no difference if the felons are powerful people. There's no deferring to that crap in these kinds of things. Don't you get it? You can't say your way around this. You either get to the part about making it stop, or you shut up.
