Apparently high speed physics are messing with my head. I mean, it seems, explosion notwithstanding, the meteor and bits of meteor stay in pretty much the same trajectory on the way down. Even though meteorites appear to be strewn along the ground in line with the trajectory after impact. It occurs to me to mention that it is plain I no longer trust the official word on anything... anything... and even think you're a sap if you do... but this scenario fits with the evidence of our ears anyway.
