Is it?
WTF? Everything they ever told me about comets has turned out to be untrue. Plus, they've been making a hairy deal out of a comet coming in the fall, but then adding more in for this year every time I turn around. Some people are insisting that whatever hit Russia the other day was actually a comet. I am still vexed by the fantastical amount of debris hits from whatever it was. They lasted way, way longer than anything one could reasonably expect from the explosion we saw in the sky. The explosion didn't last that long. The object didn't take that long to get through the atmosphere to the ground.
What-the-heck-ever comes from the universe to us is happy news for me. It's the filthy things we do to ourselves that concern me. There isn't a comet or meteor or brown dwarf or supernova as evil as that.
