Whatever the hell you want to call it.

We are blessed with a spate of competent people telling us how the psychopaths have stumped us, and how to get around it. The part that almost nobody really gets is the part about the mental acuity and vigilance and the personal courage it takes to wrest yourself from the clutches of perfidy incarnate... and to stay that way. I think this interview might give you a real clue about it.

It doesn't matter if you are right unless you are prepared to press it. Can you swear yourself to this? I rather think not. Can enough real people get this action going to prevail? I rather think not. You see, the Achilles Heel of all the libertarian blathering going on is that it takes all of the people on earth using their courage and their character and dedicating themselves to bother with the big situations in life in order to have that society.

Just hark back to Sandy. Remember all the people whining that the government was not fixing their predicament? They were not prepared... if one can be prepared... and they stuck their lower lips out and wailed to Daddy about it. Do not get me wrong. I could not handle that kind of devastation and would certainly have to rely on my neighbors or mother or friends to fish my sorry ass out of it. So I'm not trying to make you feel like a useless pile of crap here. I am trying to point out that all these swaggering mountain men, and all these sniveling bliss ninnies waiting for big checks to come in the mail, are dreaming. At least the swaggering mountain men, if they are really, really smart, and brave, are carving out better lives for themselves, but they are not solving the problem... and can not solve it... no matter how many people they persuade.

James Corbett. He's taken up libertarianism with a vengeance. I would love to see him dealing with a neighbor who refused to chip in for road maintenance, or help stopping a crime, or firefighting. Max Igan. I would love to see him respecting some dumbass brute into cooperation on any of these fronts. I could go on.

There is a nice little corner of cyberspace where intelligent people of substance go on about fixing the problem. None of them are reasonable about the masses. None of them has a structure ready to put into place on the off chance we could succeed in overthrowing the dominant paradigm. This means that even if they could succeed in rousing enough solidarity to oust the bad guys, nothing but what already is in place would replace it.

Nobody will step back from their big ideas to assess the full scope of the actual.

If there is an outpost of real opposition, I have not found it.

All we ever get is people trying to make their ways, their livelihoods, on the internet. No matter what they only call what they are doing. It is in fact only that... making a living and/or a name for themselves. Full stop.
