I see sun and moon halos all the time... the dogs being less apparent here where it's warmer, I guess... but this puts it directly to the viewer just what's going on with that action. Most of the time it looks as though the ring around the celestial body is right out there around them literally. We know the rings are our atmosphere, but... well... I for one have never seen them reach down in front of the horizon before. It all gives me the urgies to go see with my own two declining eyeballs.
