It is 75° and overcast here at 6pm PDT. I am not going to be able to enjoy the supermoon tonight. It will be covered by the incoming storm and I will be sweating too much to try to suss the situation some other way than just run out my door and see it up there. I have missed most of the phantasmagorical celestial events of recent years because of this. It doesn't matter when. It's now officially summer and several inches of rain are about to dump out of the sky... just so I can't go out and watch the moon set in the morning.
I'm going to be glad for that storm, though, because it's supposed to cool things down. The air is so wet right now that it feels quite like breathing soup and my glasses keep steaming up like crazy. I'm wiping them and me about once a minute, but it doesn't help that much.
I'm stoked because I remembered it is Saturday in time to turn on Tony Pants on the radio. I made myself a monster big Caesar-ish salad with onions and apples and avocado in it... plus a big ol' steak. As I was making all that I whipped up some of that ice cream he recently showed us how to make... without the "steroids". I'm too poor right now to even plan how I might one day purchase that stuff, so I just dropped some frozen wild blueberries, whipping cream, sour cream, honey yogurt, cinnamon and a dash of maple syrup into my blender, whipped it up good, poured it into a tupperware container and threw it into the freezer. I hope to have a delicious and ultra-healthy treat later. I tasted it. It's just nice and mildly sweet, not going to be ruining my life like store-bought does.
Basically, this supermoon is my opportunity to celebrate by being good to myself.
I will not see it, but I already am feeling it.
Still, if you have never seen moonset on the Pacific, you are SHORT the full monte. Try to get to it before you die.

2am — It has not started raining yet. I could stand outside naked to search for the moon and be perfectly comfortable. The cloud cover is thick and high. No sign of the moon but a general brightness to the night. Usually you can tell where the moon is behind the clouds, if still not exactly see it. Not now. All the sky I can see from here is about even brightness... or dimness... just relatively bright. I notice just about all my neighbors are still up. That's pretty weird... and so I guess it's well I haven't gone out there without my clothes on....
I had such a nice dinner all those hours ago that it gave me indigestion. [???] That hasn't happened to me in so long. I finally got up and made myself a little glass of baking soda and water, take the indigestion advice I have given thousands of people in my life. I burped about fifty times... in a ladylike way... and I feel like a million bucks.
The blueberry "ice cream" turned out well too, though I may have gone just a tad overboard with the cinnamon.
The storm, according to the National Weather Service radar is about fifty miles west of me right now. It seems to be moving east-northest and it seems the coastline is repelling it. In any case, the prospects for a miracle clearing near sunrise/moonset are nil. I could dream up an alien spaceship to come clear it off for me, but that would be like the bliss ninnies' plan for our future....

2:45am — And, turning from the weather, we have a supermoon boon. SNOWDEN IS ON A FLIGHT TO MOSCOW, EN ROUTE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY. Wikileaks counsel secured this escape route for him.
Hooray!
[LIVE UPDATES....]
BTW, this horseshit about "espionage" is driving me up a wall. Even if Snowden were to tour the world, stopping to detail all the perfidies done in our name in each country, it would still not be "espionage". That assumes all this surveillance shit has been done for national security. It has been done for gangster security, let's stay clear at least on that much. They are gangsters. War criminals, fraudsters, agents of private interests who brazenly admit breaching the Constitution. I don't give a fuck what they only call it. Snowden is ratting out mobsters and his actions are much more likely to protect the American People than anything those criminal fucks are doing.
If you see something, say something. At last someone's saying it.

66° at 3:45am... closing the door makes it too stuffy for me in here. This is getting goofier by the day. Earlier, around midnight or so, I needed to put on a light sweater and my boofy sox to get comfortable. Now I'm having to strip them off toward the same end. The storm is about twenty miles off just now, and obviously ambivalent about whether and how much it wants to be tropical. I am picturing all these fiendish radars and HAARP arrays battling the land mass for their way. The advantage is going back and forth. I'm also getting to hear about the situation in Syria... hear lucid discussion of it, that is, while I get buffeted by the tug of war.
