I keep noticing... like petting your dog while the vet puts him down....

In which Americans at Gitmo still have habeas corpus:
SEC. 1040. Report on attachment of rights to individuals detained at Guantanamo if transferred to the United States

...

SEC. 1040B. Procedures governing United States citizens apprehended inside the United States pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force

(a) Availability of writ of habeas corpus

Nothing in the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note), or any other law, shall be construed to deny the availability of the writ of habeas corpus to any United States citizen apprehended inside the United States pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note).

(b) Procedures

In any habeas proceeding brought by a United States citizen apprehended inside the United States pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107–40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note), the government shall have the burden of proving by clear and convincing evidence that such citizen is an unprivileged enemy belligerent and there shall be no presumption that any evidence presented by the government as justification for the apprehension and subsequent detention is accurate and authentic.
But not here?

Do we move to Cuba? Or marry a Cuban, like Lucy did?

Did the AUMF ever talk about habeas? Didn't the Supremes force them to give habeas at Gitmo? Across the board? Do they now use it only for Gitmo and just not the rest of us, while still invoking the AUMF? Is that so? Did one of the Supremes stutter? Or are we all hysterical? Who knows the lucid expert on this shit?

And can these fucks just draw up papers legalizing and illegalizing whatever the fuck they are told and we are supposed to just like it or get picked up on one of our trips to the grocery store and never be seen or heard from again?

No wonder you want to watch Lucy being Santa.

...

This makes it so it's up to individual counties to actually do anything to prevent it.
