what if the fact of the matter is much simpler?

What if certain bankers are figuring out that the economy has no correlation with money, that some people can take as much as they want or make as much as they want, at whim, without any recourse to goods, services, investment or even the rumor of them?

What if some people just have as much money as they want and decide if you can too? I know you're down here paying cash for your candy bars, and mowing Mrs. Torvaldsen's lawn for $15 an hour, and sticking two hunnert grand in an organic farming venture, and that fucker landlord didn't give you your cleaning deposit back, but what if that doesn't apply to "them"?

Maybe it would help you if we liken "them" to Monopoly players. We're the board and the pieces and our money is Monopoly money and those dreaded cards and squares about not passing Go and not getting our $200 and Jail are our justice system. Are you starting to catch my drift?

What if this spectacularly long and still growing list of precipitously-dead bankers are the ones who witness, or try to partake in, the real mechanisms of minting and shredding Monopoly money? I mean, of course, there's a completely off the books system of finance! You can't expect "them" earn it. You can't expect "them" to submit to our rules. They made the rules for us and we have no business even dreaming we can enforce them on them.

And, sure, they're working full time on weapons and advancing tech and have all manner of things we don't know about and won't unless and until they need us to bankrupt ourselves to own it.

The fact is: Their biggest terror is being found out. We have to be kept in the dark or they're dead. No more power. No more advantage. No more blowing up Monopoly men. No more lap of luxury. No more fun and games. If the masses of worthless pieces of shit wake up... game over.
