I spent a lot of time as an environmental activist. Even though this took place over a year ago, I want to hear it, want to get a feel for what's going on with our water conservation up here in redwood country. But you have no idea how many discussions with self-conscious agency people and public hearings and special presentations I have endured in my life.
Sometimes it makes you feel fairly hopeful or empowered to listen to this stuff... but then you realize sometime down the road that it was all so much air and fiddlesticks... that everything is going the way it was going to go without us, except a bunch of people got to seem like experts in front of each other in the meantime.
Still, for laypeople, there's a lot to learn from it.
