Coon Fire: The South Fork of the Smith River continues to hold as a natural barrier and fire has not crossed. Last night crews continued to burn along the ridge top containment line south of Deer Creek. On the northwest corner, crews will be burning from the 17N07M road along constructed hand line down to the South Fork of the Smith River. Structure protection engines will continue to remain in place along the Paradise Way and Rocky Creek Housing developments. 5,257 acresThat last clause sounds almost mournful, dunnit? They want to get rid of those fuels... all that sick stuff from all the chemtrailing and drought.
Bear Fire: Firefighters continue to construct approximately 15 miles of containment lines and burn along the road system to prevent fire spread to the North and West perimeter of the fire. Dozers and hand crews are working to improve roads to the south in preparation for future operations. 4,957 acres
Peak Fire: Remains unstaffed — 5,178 acres.
Feeder Fire: Night shift burned along the G-O road to prevent the last active sections from crossing. Day shift will continue this operation and hopes to secure the road by end of shift. 795 acres
Continued cooler temperatures, increased relative humidity and along with lighter winds has moderated fire activity. The marine layer has made a strong presence this morning. As the day warms, if the inversion lifts we can expect increased fire behavior, as fuels remain dry and available to burn.

LOOKIT, the six-day-old Horse Fire, down in Humboldt, near Shelter Cove, has our local firefighters, radically more personnel, radically more equipment, radically more air support and has so far been held under 200 acres, 70% containment, on at LEAST as treacherous ground.
So, when I say they've chosen to do this to us, I'm NOT just being a harridan.
The FEDS have chosen to treat our catastrophic lightning complex fires as a "forest management" opportunity rather than call in any global control stormtroopers and equipment to mitigate devastation from the coming El Niño. Unless their "plan" is to wash the aluminum and barium, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, from Northern California National Forest soils, and never dump any more, these fucknuts should be shot.
