I don't want to look at the Gasquet Complex quasi-information anymore. The Coon fire, the one closest to me as the crow flies, is now 100% contained. Yesterday there was some kind of radical jump downward in number of acres burned on it, and a radical jump upward on the number of acres burned on the Bear and Peak fires. Neither of these changes made any sense to me because rain doesn't unburn acreage and doesn't make fires flare up and burn a few thousand more acres from when you went to bed and the time you got up...

I don't think.

How many sphinxes are there?

I should check.

... unless they were fixing grievous errors or lies for funding purpose.

Anyway, it's very hard on me to endure agency jargon and bureaucratese, even a little, let alone on such a sustained basis, and this was the bit that broke my resolve. If I have to see the word "utilize" from someone whose top uniform button is about to burst and hat about to shoot into the air from the pressure of the mad scramble for big enough and official enough language to blow up my ass... oh... you're too young... just... well... it won't be pretty.

So there's the best link to start on for anyone wanting to keep up with the latest on the fires in Northwest California.

always and any time....
