Is promising to thwart the feds trying to burn down Del Norte county, but maybe only slow them a jot south of here. Instead of moping about you guys probably only gonna get some increased humidity in your parched ovens you call "home", I am trying to talk myself into the idea that the El Niño is starting early, that it won't be long until you can go out and dance in the rain.

Don't sneer. I could pull it off....

[And, despite what they say, it's 79º here right now.]

[Muggy.]

[Droopy.]

[No ventilation.]

Wind. I don't like that. But light rain should start somewhere near 11pm... maybe that's when the "cold" front will show up... right now it's 77º and I'm sweating if I put anything on my feet... and then after 2am we're supposed to be getting about a half inch of rain by same time Sunday morning.

I'm torn because I'm darn sleepy already, but I'd wanted to dance naked in the rain after the pervy neighbor is in bed. Maybe I could just dream I'm naked in the rain...? Chance of rain again Sunday night.

Still, I don't think it's going to put out the fires.

Maybe I should "petition the torsion field"....

At 8:45pm: The radar would seem to put the lie to the forecast here, but maybe not, and it's still 76º... so maybe the dreaded wind isn't whipping up.

I'm going to stop looking now and start stripping.

My brain is misfiring like mad today. So. Bed.

...

It's 12:30am. I fell immediately asleep and then immediately wide awake again and then fell asleep again and immediately wide awake again. I got up. I put some clothes on. I made myself something to eat. I'm now listening to boring stuff and playing mahjongg solitaire to await the return of sleepiness.

The bottom edge of the first wave of this system passed approximately ten miles north of me. It's not the least bit cold or windy. It's 72º out, with dead calm monster humid air. Mox nix. They've revised their 100% forecast accordingly.

...

It's 1:20am. It's raining. Definitely raining.

Maybe I can sleep now.

always and any time....
