And I am dismayed to report that I don't think it's me. I was ruffled by what I heard on the first two of these videos and now even more and in completely different ways by the two I've just added to this playlist. It's not that I think he gets his facts so wrong as what he insists upon making of them, and not always what he's making of them, but it's turning into a bloody mess again when I contemplate ways to discuss this stuff without merely further confusing things.
I've been suspecting for years now that Hitler might not have been exactly the monster made of him. So many conflicting sets of "facts" are presented by so many different seemingly trustworthy people that it might be a lethal error to believe ANY of them.
It's idiotic to blame the Dalai Lama for any affiliation with Nazis. Because he was VERY young. COMPLETELY innocent of world politics. Being invaded by the Chinese. Utterly not up to making any of these decisions. It's even idiotic to blame DT Suzuki for his Nazi contacts because he was Japanese and also not sophisticated in world politics.
Despite being very clear that it has been centuries since there was a sufficiently enlightened public teacher of Zen, or any other Buddhist tradition, there were still some with realization and great education. Unfortunately neither of those would be sufficient to have saved these fellows from scorn by hypnotized Western scholars.
On top of everything else, Levenda seems now to be trying to tell us that Lee Harvey Oswald was a NAZI operative... when I think THE most cogent conclusion, given the symphony of evidence and witness testimony dug up over the last fifty years, is that LHO was JFK's intelligence asset... whose cover had so calamitously been blown.
I'm just putting this down here in case you have been trying to listen to this stuff. I partly want to recommend you endure it, and partly want to warn you off of it. The smoky air here has advanced to now giving me a headache and my eyes are now itching and sore even without my contacts. They've been out for over a week, but the fires have only been growing over that time and it's helping to leave me in a muddle about this.
So dive in if you want to and don't if you don't. I'll keep grappling with it and maybe I can make more sense of it next time.
