Planned Actions
The main focus is shifting from the Feeder and Coon Fires to the Bear and Peak Fires.
Coon Fire: Keep the fire within the existing perimeter. Continue mop up.
Bear Fire: Continue direct attack and hold the southwest side. Mop up and hold the west and north west fire lines. Monitor the progression within the wilderness area. Continue preparation of a contingence line outside the wilderness area to the north, south and west in anticipation of the fire progressing out of the wilderness.
Peak: Monitor fire progression, plan and construct direct and indirect control and contingency lines with tactical firing. [Peak seems to have calved to the east since we last looked.]
Feeder Fire: Keep the fire within the existing perimeter, Continue mop up.
Contingency: Assist Klamath NF and Six Rivers NF with initial attack response A contingency plan is being developed and implemented as resources allow.
Projected Incident Activity
Rainfall of .25 inches will occur in the early morning. Winds on the ridges will be 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. temperatures will be in the 40-50's.

Yes, it was cooler today, but still it got up to 75º with sopped skies and sweaty residents. I did wander around barefoot today to scandalize my neighbor and to check on my garden's general state of wellness. The daisies are definitely pau, but might've been anyway, and the rest of it is too busy partying to talk to me about it.

It's 9:40pm and it just this very moment started raining... just about a minute-long sheet passing over, but heralding more through the night. Probably still not enough to douse the fires, but for sure it's slowing them.

It's 11:10pm and I just had a slight feeling of chill. It was probably the frozen cherry smoothie I just drank, but I checked the temperature out there. It's 70º and humidity well over 90%. I think this is the first time it's dropped below 72º before it's almost dawn in many days... maybe weeks... still... it's probably the smoothie.
