It's gotten to the point where, much as I love outer space, I am now convinced we don't belong there until we have mastered inner space. That's not just a term. The irrefutable fact of infinity is that there is as much inside your skin as outside it.
Somehow going to be with a few hundred people who think there is a secret space program helped solidify my certainty. Humans are not fit to leave this planet. Yes, yes, it would be a good idea to hedge against extinction with that capability, but that really just makes it the more urgent people make the first journey so we can become fit to travel out there.
