Maybe the psychopaths' enforcers are turning human on them. Maybe they can't stomach the lying. Maybe it took the sight of Russia actually doing what they have only been pretending to do for a year and a half to snap them out of their trances. Maybe General Campbell just experienced the way they do business firsthand, up close and personal, and the stench of it is more than he can bear.

All psychopaths have to do to control our military is to control their intelligence. General Campbell simply cannot have missed the stomach-churningly-ugly-for-Americans implications of the events of the last week. Being a good soldier who loves his country just isn't enough to make a decent world.
