And it's even harder to talk yourself out of than sappy disingenuous attention station rote "compassion". It's just the wish for an outcome over which you have no agency, and yet it manages to rip you the more when it doesn't go the way you'd truly genuinely selflessly creatively wanted with all your ever-lovin' heart... worse even when it's the same mechanism from all recorded history putting a cap on its ass and leaving you limp with regret and stewing in a sea of the tragedies on which this mechanism thrives.
