I am off to nether-to-me regions today. Will try to update when I get to the motel... but, you know, motels' wifi is shaky much of the time... and I don't know if I'm coming right back or going to try to pull myself together with Peggy and Jim or go yet further south to get some things that sorely need done done. I don't know. I'd like a gang of young men with a truck to show up and drive me and my shit off to a quiet little place somewhere pretty.

I made it to the motel. Only five and a half hours this time. Tourists are gone and some of the one-laners are back to two. Usually worse on weekdays because that's when CalTrans is working. They have been working really hard on the wreckage of the fire between Willits and Ukiah. Most of the scorched white spots are fixed and the whole side of the highway has been blown with that sticky grass seed stuff... huge culverts dug for runoff, but the grass is already coming back.
