California's gas prices are still by far the highest in the nation. The excuse for it is never the insane taxes, it's that our gasoline is more environmentally friendly. Our gasoline is NOT more environmentally friendly. It cuts the gas mileage by exactly as much as it cuts emissions... which MEANS we pay even more radically more money per mile than anywhere in the country and our emissions are the same as everywhere else in the country.
It looks good on paper. That's it.
