Three hours later: Suddenly every outlet is reporting on it, and I'm looking everywhere for official word that we did it, when finally the president SEEMS to be confirming it really was a US airstrike, and I goddam don't know how I feel about this yet.
It seems to me Soleimani would have been the man the Supreme Leader would send to the Shia Militias in Iraq to tell them to cool their jets. It's possible I'm completely ignorant of a lot, but unless we are certain Soleimani organized and controlled the attack on our embassy, this does not seem to have been a prudent move.
Don't mind me. I'm paranoid about those military brass out there who can make orders from the psychopaths seem to the troops to be coming from DC. I hope we had them dead to rights and Donald said, Nope, but I can't tell yet.
