This might be the karma of tearing down instead of retrofitting all those residential hotels decades back. It used to be easy for secretaries and file clerks and grocery clerks and restaurant workers and bartenders and old people on fixed incomes to find housing in San Francisco.
And now nobody decent wants to be there anyway.
