It might even stay clear long enough to see it, but mostly, here on the coast, we're better off looking for the full moonset than rise. The mountains or hills between you and the east need to be far enough away to see the moon through the requisite amount of atmosphere to be awed sufficiently.

And, hell, I saw one moonset coming down the highway toward Nevada City some thirty-odd years ago to make the rest of the stark raving gorgeous ones pale.

It actually frightened me for an instant. I was coming off the last curve down from the Sierra onto a due West straight stretch and that sucker looked as though it had to be Jupiter about to crash into us.

So I maybe have my life's allotment already, but some of you moon photographers probably have not and this will be another chance.
