I was wrong. It was the missing kidney stone that had been stuck half way down my right ureter. It had looked very tiny in the CT image they showed me. When I asked what we were going to do about it sometime after the big emergency blown up guts problem, they shrugged at me and said there's no kidney stone there now. I thought it must've passed while I was too out of it to notice, but we measured this one, ALMOST a full centimeter, and it matched the information on the computer image from ten months ago. That was TEN months from stuck in the ureter to rolling around in my bladder to plinking out and into my toilet. I am hoping this was just the grand finale, the exclamation point at the end of my ordeal.
