Was being forced to watch a Springstein concert on TV. I never liked him. His music did nothing for me. I did NOT want to, but, well... you'd have to have been there. So, my mind wandered over to the bass player, and decided he was really very good at playing that thing. Great big black guy. I can't remember his name anymore.
Mox nix... except for that was what made me pay more attention to the bassists, instead of just forever taking them for granted. It ends up being why I wanted to pay attention to Pratt in the first place... and then finding out about the amazing, amazing, amazing sounds, not anythings you'd peg as being from the bass, he can pluck off at whim.
Plus, he's SO nice, and he cracks me up.
