It's beginning to shape up that it was mostly a ruse....

I ran across this comment somewhere yesterday, and I think it covers the observables darn well.
Maybe the discussions behind the scenes between Iran and the US were slightly more honorable than we would think. A bit more like a fight with a shady Yakuza PRIDE contract than an all out war with no rules.

US: Hey, bro, you know we can take out Fordow right?

Iran: Bullshit. That mutha buried too deep.

US: Want us to step to the plate bro? Move all your nuclear fuel out so we don't cause a bunch of fallout and shit, we'll try to be civilized about this. But if we do, you don't escalate, minus, say, a few attacks back to save face with your peoples. But don't hit the intel plant and don't close the strait. Warn us so nobody gets hurt. Then we have a ceasefire and you play ball with us from there. Okay?

Iran: Aight, bro, let's roll them dice!
Ya think?

This is me boiling the roiling speculations put about as "insider knowledge" down to their essence, with the help of one anonymous contributor throwing out his/her hypothesis. It sounds very Donald... including the not very convincing to those he's trying to appease part.

We're supposed to trust him. Well, I've taken that to heart. I trust him to try to worm his way out of ignominy in this sort of way. Still, he's lied to us and to the world, AND forced his cabinet to do the same. He's embarassed me in front of the whole world.

And, obviously, he could not possibly care less....

pipe up any time....
