The ancients foretold that Buddhism would degenerate, and degenerate it has. It's plain to me that if we are to "save all sentient beings" we need badly to completely overhaul it... not even call it "Buddhism" anymore.
There are SO many charlatans out there, SO many suffering humans looking for the way to save their own lives, scouring the planet for their answer, their teacher — when your teacher finds you or you're not getting taught, you're getting slathered with exotic and delusory window dressing by the deluded — it's just like any other long degenerated organized religion... when it was NEVER a religion from the git.
Truly. The Buddha himself would be appalled.
I've checked. It's outright ludicrous out there. And if I am to salvage any bit of performance on my main mission in life, I'm going to need to buckle down — with my circus of infirmities going full bore three rings — and... perform!
Yesterday, in my evening nap, I dreamed Billy was yelling at me from Libby's bathroom to get the fuck out or he was going to kill me. Billy is dead, a dear friend for more than fifty years, and my best friend for thirty of those, and Libby, who was my best friend, has been dead for more than fifty years.
I think maybe it was a blast of sleep apnea, from which both were trying to wake me, but there are a million other ways to interpret that dream and I'm busy with them.
It's taken a couple years, but I think I'm about as recovered from my circuitry burnout as I'm going to get... or... recovered enough to remember my mission and do better anyway. So I'm on it.
It'll profit sentient beings more if I do it, handicaps and all.
