All I heard at the time was that he was a racist asshole. Got this idea that he wanted to be mean to persons of color... whatever color, and didn't bother to look into it. Since not long after that, I've been on a serious crusade to catch myself before I do shit like that. It's how I knew not to believe them about Putin until I'd researched it thoroughly.
It would be really nice if we could spare our kids the constant lessons not to look into what we tell them. I mean, yeah, they gotta not even bother to look into certain things we tell them, just believe it pending freedom, but we need to give them the idea, and complete freedom, to find out about other people and things of the world for themselves. NOT opinions. Verifiable facts.
