If we go on the kill us or cure us theory. I know we have a bunch of kill us or cure us cities in this country, but THE city of cities in this country has long been THE city on the tip top of MY list to NEVER even get near.
I think, though, that there are much stronger forces in NYC than the mayor's office, so it's almost certainly going to turn out as a major loss for communism. But look at it this way: it's already been a major loss for capitalism for decades.
