I am at this moment brimming with homicidal ideation....

...

Thanks to the indispensable Old Uncle Dave, my homicidal ideation has ebbed down to mere EXTREME CONSTERNATION over human stupidity.
Texas is starting to recover from a long drought and this may be a factor in the sudden self-poisoning of the grass. The USDA has dispatched scientists to find out what went wrong.

According to the Animal Health Library, Bermuda grass is high in hydrocyanic acid, which may be concentrated during times of drought. Those fighting the GMO food good fight will need to find another cause, because the only thing in this story that's been genetically modified are the facts.
Although, it is a hybrid Bermuda grass hybrid again with a South African grass called "PI 290884" and do they call natural grasses by numbers? Did they hybridize the hybrid Bermuda grass with a GM grass to breed out the intolerance to cold?

This Tifton 85 that is suddenly killing cows is a sterile hybrid, which would mean to me they have to continually buy seeds to keep the pasture happening. This might be worth it since it is said to contain more protein than other grasses, but, well, we seem to have found the Achilles Heel now....
