And [nearly] alone....

I'd still love to hear Barry Scheck's closing from the OJ trial again. All that sturm und drang from the prosecution and poor Ronald's psychotic father, and all that crappy yapping about his big nose and his nasal voice and his dweeby presentment, when Scheck stood up at the end and delivered the most lucid piece of speech of the modern age, with stiff competition only from the inimitable Farrakhan.

Somebody recently arched an eyebrow and asked me did I really think OJ was innocent. I said I think it is very highly unlikely that he is guilty, that anyone who had listened to the testimony and weighed the evidence would have to have concluded it was nigh impossible OJ killed Nicole and Ronald. We learned OJ was not a very nice man. We learned OJ was a darn childish man. We learned that the cops tried to frame him. We learned there was almost no humanly possible time frame for him to have done it. No. I don't think OJ did it. I think there's a heavy possibility he knows who did and even a horrifically-public murder trial was a better option than opening his mouth about it.

I had a tv. I was bolted to it. I did not miss a minute of it. It was too horrible and I had to go through it. Barry Scheck was, and is, a miracle, a champion of truth, a reason never to lose hope for humanity. He does not look or sound dweeby. His voice is music and his nose is manly. He reminds me of Maximus.
