This was an interview with Studs Terkel that took place in 1970. I implore you to find time for it. If you keep getting accused of having loose screws, missing marbles, scrambled eggs, you most particularly want to read his The Myth of Mental Illness. Part of my emphasis here is because there are very many people who are acting nutty about surveillance these days, and/or stubbornly refusing to adopt The Narrative, with even the Dragon Lady asserting whole swaths of perfectly decent humans be sent somewhere for "re-education". Everyone could really use a blast of sanity about now because, if you are following along here, we're getting closer to Nazi Germany even than to the Roman Empire in this country, in the whole West.
